MY NAME IS JONONE
Born in 1993 Jonathan “JonOne” Madray grew up in Hollis Queens, NY and moved to Long Island, NY in 1998. He was influenced by his father at the age of 9 to become a disc jockey. He started to make remixes and mashups of songs at the age of 13 and DJed for his first party at that age. JonOne continued doing parties and eventually raised enough money to buy his own equipment.
In 2007 he formed the name “JonOne” from combining his artistic abilities along with his musical abilities. JonOne used to write graffiti art and took the usual “One” from the end of taggers’ names and put it on the end of his to form a unique disc jockey name.
Eventually JonOne got his name out on CDs and sold them in stores. He was featured on numerous Remix CDs and mixtapes along side other artists and DJs such as DJ ET, DJ Craze, Mastah X, DJ Xclusive, DJ Lovaboi, DJ SpinQuick, Wickidsoundz, Hypnotix, Mad Bwoy and more. He has made a number of solo CDs himself, such as My Name Is JonOne, Hypnotized, DaggahMastah, DaggahMastah vol 2 and more.
In 2008 JonOne got his name out in the club scene by doing his first club event at Gravity Night Club in Portwashington New York along side DJ Drastic and DJ ET. After that he has been inspired to continue in the club scene and has done various lounges, clubs, and bars and continues to do different places today. He has also DJed with numerous disc jockeys from radio stations and city clubs such as Hot 97’s Heavy Hitters.
In Feb 2010 JonOne started producing his own tracks by making instrumentals from scratch and writing songs/poems. He also sells them on various websites along with his CDs.
In January 2011, JonOne started working with FME Recordings and DJ Yonny’s street team. JonOne has also got his mashups and remixes available for sale on various websites such as www.getmyremix.com, www.crack4djs.net and more.

“Recovering from the hospital was probably one of the most hardest things to go through at my age. Not many people know, but I had 2 spontaneous pneumothorax’s (lung collapse) during my senior year. Regardless of this obstacle, I have continued to strive and my life is finally getting back on track. I will continue my journey to the top and destroy the competition. Thank you to all of my supporters and fans that made this mixtape possible. And to all of the young new musicians, don’t ever let anyone tell you that you cant do something. Follow your dreams, work hard, practice and persevere. The sky is the limit, and My Name Is JonOne.”
